Program Description

Art history examines paintings, sculpture, buildings and objects as evidence of the societies that produced them, asking why an image looks the way it does and what it meant to its viewers. Close visual analysis pairs with archival research. Graduates often work in museums, galleries, art and auction markets, publishing and teaching.
