Program Description

Biochemical engineering brings process engineering to biology, designing the reactors, separations and controls that turn cells, enzymes and microbes into medicines, foods, fuels and materials. Work is split between laboratory experiment, modelling and plant-scale design. Graduates commonly enter pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing, food processing, energy and process consultancy.
