Program Description

Recreation ecology studies the effects of visitors on natural areas: how trails, camping, boating and tourism alter soils, vegetation and wildlife, and how those impacts can be measured and managed. Fieldwork, monitoring and impact assessment are central. Graduates often work in park and protected-area management, conservation, tourism planning or research.
