Program Description

Theoretical physics uses mathematics to describe how the universe behaves, from particles and fields to space, time and matter under extreme conditions. Much of the work is analytical and computational: building models, deriving consequences and comparing them with observation. Graduates often continue in research, or apply their modelling skills in computing, finance and technology.
