Program Description

This branch of sociology looks at autism as a social phenomenon: how it is defined, diagnosed and represented, how autistic people experience education, work and services, and how families and communities respond. Study draws on disability theory, qualitative research and social policy. Graduates often work in research, advocacy, support services and policy roles.
